We showcase one of a kind Koa and other exotic wood turnings from Hawaii's premier artists. We have bowls that are perfectly shaped and sanded and hand oil rubbed to a mirror finish. The calabash/gourd shape are highly prized and authentic to the traditions of Hawaii. The Natural edge bowls display the complete beauty of the heartwood, sapwood and the actual outer bark. Prized are the bowls made from Kou, Milo, Koa, Kamani, Ohia, and a few others. These bowls are truly a piece of Hawaii.

In Hawaii, bowls have been passed down from generation to generation. They can commemorate a life, retirement, marriage, a birth, and any and all of the important life's milestones. The most "modern" resource for wood has become Norfolk and Cooke pine. The artists have the ability to make the bowls translucent and combining that with the contrast of knots and spalting (black shading) are a sight to behold.

Most of our boxes are made from Hawaii's exotic woods, specifically Acacia Koa. Koa has some of the most amazing translucent patterning of any wood in the world. It is a prized and protected resource and we only showcase artists that are conscientious of this fact.
